About Me
I'm Sylvia Coffey, owner of Pooler Pet Sitter. I’m the dog mom to Bandit, Smokey, and Lily. I’ve always had a love for dogs since I was five years old. We had a dachshund named Pooky growing up, and that’s where my love for dogs started. Once I got a house of my own, I rescued a black and tan dachshund that I named Leah. Leah was my little shadow for ten years before she crossed the rainbow bridge. After Leah, my husband Ben and I rescued a chihuahua named Lily. I guess Ben and I had dog fever, lol, because a month later we adopted a black lab puppy, and we named her Smokey to go with her big brother Bandit. Ben adopted Bandit when he was a puppy and has had since college. Bandit is now 13 while Lily is 6 and Smokey is 4.
As an avid dog and animal lover, I decided to start petting sitting. I offer drop-in visits and dog walking.
I work full time as an HR Manager for a small chemical processing company. I work Monday to Friday in an office near downtown Savannah. Since Pooler Pet Sitter is my part time job, it limits my availability to early mornings and evenings only during the week. My availability is more flexible and open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s making my services perfect for weekend getaways!
My Story
How Pooler Pet Sitter Started
A friend was looking for a new dog sitter because her previous one had changed jobs. She and her family began to pray for a new dog sitter and started asking around. Her sister knew how much I loved my own three dogs and my previous dachshund who had passed. They reached out, and I gladly accepted! That request planted the seed for Pooler Pet Sitter! In no time, I had created the name, logo, and social media pages. That’s how Pooler Pet Sitter was born in August 2023! A huge thank you to Erin, Wesley, and Jo for trusting and believing in me! I would have never started pet sitting without this simple request. God’s timing is always perfect ❤️🐾
